My Background

I have worked within the field of human services since 1984, including 14 years as a qualified field social worker. Since 2000, I have been registered
as a Psychotherapist with The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
In addition to my private practice, from 2004 to 2007, I was a Counsellor in the Student Counselling Service at the University of Derby.
I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice provided by The Sherwood Institute and UKCP.

My qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy, and an M.A. ( 'With Distinction' ) in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy. These were gained from The Sherwood Institute, where I trained from 1992 to 1996 and 2002 to 2003.
I have also made an in-depth study of psychodynamic psychotherapy.

I am an Accredited EMDR Practitioner, and a member of the EMDR Association of UK & Ireland.
From 2004 to 2005, I attended training in Family Systems Therapy with The Hellinger Institute of Britain.
I am a student of the Diamond Approach with the Ridhwan School UK.
