My Background

I have worked within the field of human services since 1984, including 13 years as a qualified field social worker. Since 2000, I have been registered as a Psychotherapist with The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I am the author of ‘An Integrative Approach to Healing Complex & Transgenerational Trauma: Psychotherapy and the Soul’, which was published by Routledge in May 2025.

In addition to my private practice, from 2004 to 2007, I was a Counsellor in the Student Counselling Service at the University of Derby.

I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice provided by The Sherwood Institute and UKCP.

I hold a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy and an M.A. (‘With Distinction’) in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy. These were gained from The Sherwood Institute, where I trained from 1992 to 1996 and 2002 to 2003.

From 2004 to 2005, I attended training in Family Systems Therapy with The Hellinger Institute of Britain.

I  hold a Diploma in Clinical Supervision (2015) from the Sherwood Institute, and am included in the UKCP ‘directory of approved supervisors’.

I have studied and trained in a wide range of trauma therapies, including EMDR  at Levels 1-3 in 2006-7, CRM (The Comprehensive Resource Model) in 2015 & 2016 and  DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) in 2021, 2022 & 2023.

In the course of my career, I have made an independent, in-depth study of psychodynamic psychotherapy and Analytical Psychology.

I am a student of the Diamond Approach with the Ridhwan School UK.
